Bonaire is a tranquil, laid-back Dutch island in the southern Caribbean and eastern-most of the ABC group. The island is noted for marine conservation and some of the world's best scuba diving. Consequently the island is not as developed as most other islands in the Caribbean. Thus Bonaire is said to be characteristic of the Caribbean of some twenty years ago.
